What inspires you Ginette?

As you can probably see by browsing my website, inspirations come from many places.

I am mostly inspired by nature, but also by my own life experiences. My live is a real adventure. My past is very colorful and diverse.  My childhood was very painful and difficult. Creating art is my total refuge and I am inspired by memories, of which I try to only hang on to the good ones. I am inspired by daily simple things, nature, sometimes the mundane, sometimes the glamourous, places and even movies that bring back memories of times well spend.

It is a intense feeling that comes over me when I decide to paint something specific, similar to when you smell a perfume and you remember that fragrance in connection with a wonderful experience. The stuff that floats on my head and heart all the time, inspires me.

Sometimes I tell myself that i must stay with a certain main theme, but hen I think, why? My life hasn't been a certain theme, why should my art be. I paint mostly for my own happiness and satisfaction so I let myself be inspired by whatever comes my way.

Seasons are of course inspiring without trying. So right now I am all inspired by Spring, if mother nature could just make up her mind to let Spring all in.

I am an independent, self supporting artist and Renaissance woman, working full time on my art. I absolutely love what I do. Creating art consumes me. I paint original art with oil paints, watercolors, also ink and pastel. Additionally I use the photos of my art or scans to create mixed media, where I use digital tools to layer texture or change the colors of these original paintings. Not a day goes by where I don't create something new. My original paintings are on ginettecallaway.com My art prints are on ginetteprints.com and over 1000 pieces or art prints, that includes some of my earlier work and many abstract pieces are on http://www.imagekind.com/artists/GinetteCallaway/all/fine-art-prints
