Poppies are fascinating little flowers. They are so delicate. A mirage. If you pick them they won't last long, not the wild kind anyway, the kind I saw as a child in the fields where I grew up in France. They grew in the wheat fields, in the Meadows just about everywhere. The pedals were like tissue paper. I've been fascinated with them ever since.
