A long-time collector from Texas asked me to paint a 9 inch by 24 inch painting with a certain palette (jewel colors) and topic (Paris). I decided to paint 2 pieces and told her that there are no strings attached. She can pick one of them or buy both.
After she asked a couple of her friends which one to pick, it was a tie and she ended up buying both because she loves them both so much. I am so humbled and grateful. It's just so great to get that much love and positive feedback from a customer. She has bought Paris paintings of mine before and still has them. Proud of them and she shares the fantastic feedback she gets from people who visit her. Those are the messages that break that void that is between an artist and her collectors created by the internet. I rarely see any of my buyers. In her case I did get to speak to her which was great. I am energized once again to paint more Paris.
